[Down by the salley gardens ]

Down by the salley gardens my love and I did meet
She passed the salley gardens with little snow-white feet
She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the trees
But I being young and foolish with her would not agree
In a field by the river my love and I did stand
And on my leaning shoulder she laid her snow-white hand
She bid me take life easy as the grass grows on the weirs
But I was young and foolish and now am full of tears

當我漫步走入柳樹園 我的摯愛與我在此相見   

看著她輕盈地信步走過  雪白的纖足留下足跡片片

她曾叮囑我溫柔對待這份愛 如同呵護細葉在枝椏萌發        

但那時的我是如此無知輕率  不曾聆聽她心中娓娓地傾訴告白

在那河畔的曠野上 我的摯愛與我並肩佇立

她纖細溫柔的小手 依稀倚靠著我微傾的肩膀

她說生命應該要順其自然 就像青草在堤岸上默默滋長

而那時的我依舊年輕無知  到如今卻在追悔中熱淚盈眶
